Lestat de Lioncourt, the seventh son of a Marquis, youngest of three that lived to manhood, was born around 1860. He lived in pre-revolutionary France, in Auvergne. At the age of 12, he was sent to a monastery to learn to read, but when he announced that he wanted to stay with the monks, he was immediately brought back home. When he was 20, Lestat went out to kill a pack of eight wolves and succeeded.
For his beauty and bravery, Lestat was chosen by Magnus to become his heir. Not long afterwards, Lestat turns his mortal mother into a vampire, then later his best friend Nicolas. In 1791, he makes another fledgling, Louis and soon after, a daughter for them, Claudia. His most recent fledgling is David Talbot, former supreme general of the Talamasca.
Lestat has always had the tendency to break rules. As a mortal man, he ran away with a troupe of actors, then again to Paris. After being given the Dark Gift, he chose to flaunt himself in places of light rather than live in the sticking crypts of les Innocents. Years later, he turned five year old Claudia into a vampire. Finally, he had the audacity to become a rock star, and reveal the secrets and names of vampires he had met in the two centuries. He's also known for acting on impulse and not thinking decisions through.
Another characteristic that is most intriguing is this: Throughout the 200 years he's lived and all his adventures, he has fallen countless times. Yet each time, he manages to rise, brush himself off, and go on. He never accepts defeat, never gives up and makes sure that things will turn out the way he wants them to.
As of now, Lestat has just awakened from a coma-like sleep.

"......a tall fair-skinned man with a mass of blond hair and a graceful, almost feline quality to his movements...... His gray eyes burned with an incandescence, and the long white hands which hung by his sides were not those of a human being..... his extraordinary aura and knew him to be no creature I'd ever known, I was reduced to nothing."
Anne Rice writes as Louis in Interview with the Vampire about Lestat
"I am the Vampire Lestat....I'm six feet tall, which was pretty impressive in the 1780s when I was a young mortal man. It's not bad now. I have thick blond hair, not quite shoulder length, and rather curly, which appears white under fluorescent light. My eyes are gray, but they absorb the colors blue and violet easily from surfaces around them. And I have a fairly short nose, and a mouth that is well shaped, but just a little too big for my face. It can look very mean, or extremely generous, my mouth. It always looks sensual. But emotions and attitudes are always reflected in my entire expression. I have a continuously animated face."
Anne Rice writes as Lestat in The Vampire Lestat about himself
"Lestat, ever the maverick and laughing trickster. Six feet tall, a young man of twenty when made, with huge warm blue eyes and thick flashy blond hair, square of jaw, with a generous beautifully shaped mouth and skin darkened by a sojourn in the sun which would have killed a weaker vampire, a ladies' man, an Oscar Wildean fantasy, the glass of fashion, the most bold and disregarding dust vagabond on occasion, loner, wanderer, heartbreaker and wise guy, dubbed the 'Brat Prince'..."
Anne Rice writes as Armand in The Vampire Armand about Lestat
